12 May 2008 - IAA Elects New Board
On May 12 the International Authentication Association (IAA) held its first full AGM since its launch last January, at which the Board for the coming year was elected. Given the growth of the IAA’s work over 16 months of its operation – particularly in the areas of lobbying, standards and communications – the number of Board positions was increased from five to six.
David Howard of Johnson & Johnson Healthcare Systems was re-elected chairman.
Existing Board members Simon Wildash of Payne Security, Erin Kane of Honeywell and Günther Galfe of Schreiner ProSecure were also re-elected.
Randall Burgess of tesa scribos stepped down from the Board and was thanked for his contribution in helping steer the IAA through its first year.
The two new Board members are Ed Dietrich of Hologram Industries and Jim Rittenberg of Authentix.
As part of the development of the Board, each member has taken on, or will be assuming, specific roles – in some cases with the support of a committee of volunteers from the membership. David Howard is leading membership recruitment, Simon Wildash has a financial supervisory role, Günther Galfe is leading the work on standards and Ed Dietrich will be driving forward the development of the IAA’s authentication framework.
Additional roles and responsibilities will be decided at the next Board meeting, which takes place on June 18.
